...and it's so hot here! It's hard to stay motivated when you're sweating like crazy. I still haven't picked a large project to work on. However, I did find a medium-sized project to start. This is Sailing Dreams: It's by the same designer, Barbara Ana, who created Dreaming Frida. I really enjoy the look of these "Dreaming" designs! Catching up on Tuesday...

Image
...yesterday was kind of a wash. We were pretty tired after Sunday. We sailed on the San Francisco Bay to drop my mother-in-law's ashes in the approximate location that we dropped my father-in-law's ashes. We spent 3 hours on the water, going almost all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Afterwards, The Daughter hosted a family gathering in her home. We shared funny stories and memories of both parents. It was a wonderful day, but exhausting. Spinning is always my go-to craft when I'm tired or stressed. I spent most of the day finishing up Blue Eyes [ Ravelry ]: and the close-up: Specs: Started 5/28/2022 Finished 6/20/2022 Yak-Silk (4.0 oz.) from Greenwood Fiberworks 177 yds chain-ply, 13 WPI

Eye Candy Friday...

...that week went fast! The Blenheim apricots are ripening. It won't be long now! The hydrangeas are mostly blue with touches of purple. We have some squash blossoms... ...and the marionberries are going crazy.

WIP-it Wednesday...

...life got a little complicated this last week, so posting fell by the wayside. I'm doing a little spinning because it's easy to pick up and put down. I've finished the Blue Eyes [ Ravelry ] singles, a yak-silk.  I've spun yak-silk before and didn't enjoy it as much as camel-silk. I've waited several months before trying it again. This spin is a little better than last time. I have a few braids left of yak-silk, so I'm just going to power through them. WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Blue Eyes Handspun (spinning) [ Ravelry ] Finished singles and ready to ply Hot Enough For Ya? (cross stitch) Still working on the sun rays. WIP-it Wednesday...

...catching up. After finishing the previous mini cross stitch project, I pulled out another JABC project. It's called "Hot Enough For Ya?" It doesn't look like much yet, kind of like a summer Chershire cat. I still haven't picked the next large project, so I'll just continue doing these small projects until then. WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Effortless Cardigan (knitting) [ Ravelry ] Still working on the body. This stash yarn is in different dye lots. It's acrylic yarn, which sometimes is not affected by dye lots, but this one does. Rather than do some of the different tricks to blend yarns of different dye lots, I'm just alternating skeins to get a subtle wide stripe on the sweater. What the heck, it's for me to wear in the studio...I don't care about the stripe! Hot Enough For Ya? (cross stitch) Working on the sun rays. No Work This Week: Blue Eyes Handspun (spinni...
