Livin' La Needle Loca

 ...and I'm back after a trip to mom's. I had to run an inventory of mom's house to get an idea of how much will be included in the eventual estate sale plus do some errands. I took my Ashford Kiwi 3 wheel and was able to get a little spinning done. At home, I've been working on cross stitch projects. I am continuing to bead the mermaid project and I've been working on another Barbara Ana Design. This is Winged Dreams. This October Moonshine Handspun [ Ravelry ], an art yarn. and the close-up: Specs: Started 10/7/2023 Finished 10/7/2023 Falkland 1 (4.3 oz)  and 2 (4.4 oz) from The Yarn Wench Two singles plied with Trendsetter Luna in Copper 85.4 yds. chain-ply, 6 WPI WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Hip To Be Square quilt (quilting) Top is complete. Waiting to have enough time to sandwich the quilt. Mermaids of the Deep Blue Sea (cross stitch) Finished beading the tail; working on the top part of the design.  ...and I've declared one project done. This is Pacific Waters [ Ravelry ]: Specs: Started 3/3/2021 Finished 10/6/2023 Weft: 8/4 Maysville Carpet Warp in White Warp: Handspun yarns Beads and charms from stash I think it would have been better to do this project on my rigid heddle. I was frustrated with the small shed on the tapestry loom and that resulted in my shortening the intended length of the project.  I was tired of looking at it in its unfinished state and decided to add fringe and a hanger before declaring it done.

 ...starting to do more on my rotation. The mermaids cross stitch is still getting the most play. The beading is coming along. I've started working on some knitting projects that have been languishing. It feels good to be knitting again. I'm trying to get back into the habit of knitting while I watch TV at night instead of playing games on my iPad. WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Hip To Be Square quilt (quilting) All square blocks are sewn together. Cut out borders and binding fabric. Mermaids of the Deep Blue Sea (cross stitch) Finishing the beading of the tail and working my way up the torso. Illusion hexagons (knitting) [ Ravelry ]  Finished a hexagon and started another. Jellies Socks (knitting) [ Ravelry ]  I finished another pattern repeat, but I keep getting off-track in the middle. I'm trying to decide whether to give up on this pattern and do a different sock pattern. Ocean Ripples ...

This is the completed Mid Century Deco quilt: Specs: Started 4/10/2023 Top completed 4/21/2023 Finished 9/30/2023 Quilt based on Carbide quilt by Modern Moon Quilt Design and Deco Quilt Pattern blog post by Brittany Lloyd Mid Century Modern fabric colors I love how it turned out! Using metallic thread to quilt the silver sections was a pain, but they look good. Now that I've finished this quilt, I can work on the Hip To Be Square quilt. I've already sewn together all of the squares. I need to cut out and attach the two borders, then the top will be done. After that, I'll piece the backing and it will be ready to make the quilt sandwich.
