Eye Candy Everyday...

Image
...AKA, I missed Friday's post. Oops! I caught up yesterday logging in some fiber stash that was new or I missed somehow. I wanted to start spinning a Falkland called Summer's End that wasn't in Ravelry yet. I figured that as long as I was photographing it, I should do some others that I planned to spin during the rest of the year (or at least until I get my studio back). Setting up to spin was harder than I thought. There is really no good place to have a comfortable spinning chair and enough room for my wheel. Yesterday, I sat on the couch and spun, but my shoulders were not happy with me and the sofa is not firm enough. I could probably set up in my bedroom with a dining room chair, but it would be very crowded. And who wants to be in their bedroom all night and all day? It was a little rainy earlier in the week and I took this great sunrise photo: I hope there will be some flowers to photograph for next week.

WIP-it Wednesday...

...sorry no photos today. We've spent the last two days moving furniture and boxes into a POD container from the studio. I've identified the furniture that's broken and needs to go away, plus the furniture that can be sold/given away. I have a bunch of yarn to sell and need to photograph it so I can do so. ...and some WIPs catch-up. I totally missed Wednesday's WIP-it post. I'm still trying to find a rhythm while we work on the remodel and Wednesday got away from me. The current WIP is CATrina, another piece from Barbara Ana Design. I'm really enjoying this piece. I love the color of the linen and the colors in the design. The garden is winding down as we get into fall. The Marc Chagall roses are still blooming like crazy: the snapdragons are trying hard: and the marigolds are going strong: WIPs Roll Call Worked On: CATrina (cross stitch) Started on 9/10; working on the face. ...and some catch-up. Yesterday was my birthday and I decided to take the day off from packing things in the studio. I did a little stitching, a little puttering, and then we went out to dinner. I took a few photos in the garden before I asked The Husband to take my birthday photo. The yellow hibiscus is still going strong: The Husband bought a basket full of red verbena and calibrachoa to hang in the backyard: and the Marc Chagall rose is blooming again. It was a big birthday, 75, and a tough one to wrap my arms around.  I am blessed with good genes, but still the number gets to me. My mom looked great at 75: and here is my birthday photo: I'm rarely happy with any photo of myself. This one turned out pretty well. WIPs Roll Call Worked On: My Recipes (cooking) Continued adding recipes from my Christmas cookbook and research some of the sources. I wished that I had done a better job of keeping track of the sources, but it...

...it went very quickly! This is Horrified!, a mini from Just Nan: Specs: Started 8/26/2025 Finished 9/1/2025 Chart from Just Nan  I believe that there is a matching frame for this piece, but it might already be packed up in the studio. I have one place to check. If it's not there, then it is in one of the many boxes that I've packed up and it will have to wait.
