...and a couple more finished items One finished object that I forgot to list in the last post was the finishing work for Hot Enough For Ya? I finished it as a flat, so it doesn't look much different than the last photo I took. The foam arrived for the cushion for our new entryway bench. I used the leftover fabric from the gray pillows I made for the new sofas. Specs: Started and finished 4/21/2023 No pattern No zipper as I didn't want the zipper to scratch the new bench I completed the finishing work for the More Beach project. When I bought the chart, I purchased the matching rick rack from the designer. I used it as edging tacked down with small shells that had been prepped to be used as beads. Specs: Started 1/5/2023 Finished 1/29/2023 Finishing work complete 4/26/2023 Design and rick rack from Hands On Design I'm making cording for additional finishing work. The *real* WIP-it Wednesday...

...or Part 2, if you'd like after the Publish/queue error I made yesterday. [shrug] I have assembled the Mid Century Deco quilt into a top half and a bottom half. I had a lot of issues with the first two rows. The blocks were not aligning properly. In addition, the corner setting triangles were off a bit because I had to add borders and it was hard to figure out if they were the right size. A couple of adjustments later and things were moving along OK. It was still time-consuming, but I'm happier with how things look. Rather than pushing myself to finish assembling the top, I chose to wait until tomorrow. I'm debating whether to add a border or to leave the top as-is. Decisions, decisions...

...I forgot to queue this post up for Wednesday and pushed Publish instead. Oh, well! ====== ..and we have progress! The Mid Century Deco quilt is coming along nicely! It's the first time that I've done an on-point block setting, so that part of the quilt is taking longer than normal. Thank goodness, someone else did all the math for the corner and side triangles! All I had to do is look up my block size to get the sizes for the triangles. There's still a little adjusting to do because some of my triangles need borders that match the blocks.  Here's a not-great photo of the current progress: WIPs Roll Call   Worked On: Mid Century Deco quilt (quilting) Sewed all blocks; assembling the rows. Effortless Cardigan (knitting) [ Ravelry ] Still working on the sleeve ribbing. Sadly, we think that our Blenheim apricot tree dying. It was not happy with the remodeling activity in the backyard. It has only produced one blossom and a few leaves. it's mostly bare branches. :(

...so many projects, so little time! I made a gold pillow using invisible zippers. Here are the all of the square pillows: Here's a lumbar pillow I made using some leftover fabric and a regular zipper (much easier!). Specs: 5 Sofa Pillows (square) Started 4/3/2023 Finished 4/7/2023 No pattern; first time using invisible zippers Gold Lumbar pillow Started and finished 4/11/2023 No pattern; used standard zipper We ordered an entryway bench that does not have a cushion. As soon as we receive the bench, I'll take some measurements and make a bench cushion for it. I have enough dark gray fabric left over from the pillows to use for the cushion.  I finished the design for Mid Century Deco quilt. I purchased the fabrics and cut out the block components. I also reviewed instructions on creating a quilt with blocks set on point. WIPs Roll Call   Worked On: Mid Century Deco quilt (quilting) Cut out the block components and ...

WIP-it Wednesday…

…a little late and no photos.  It’s been a long couple of days. Yesterday, our new sofa and love seat were delivered, which meant that we had to move the old ones out of the way. Then we picked up our new entertainment unit and assembled it. Today, we had someone take away our old ones. We moved the new stuff in place and it looks great. I spent the remainder of the day making four pillows for them.  After today’s experience, I have decided that I really hate the way you have to install invisible zippers. I do like the way they look, but, man, are they a giant pain in the @$$!! WIPs Roll Call   Worked On: Art Deco quilt (quilt) Exploring mid century modern/art deco designs for the next quilt Effortless Cardigan (knitting) [ Ravelry ] Working on the last decrease section of the sleeves.  Finishing work. Picked backing fabric for Frida Kathlo and Purple Heart Mermaids of the Deep Blu Sea ( cross stitch). Started 4/1. Created a working copy of the pattern, marked ...
