 …a little late and no photos. 

It’s been a long couple of days. Yesterday, our new sofa and love seat were delivered, which meant that we had to move the old ones out of the way. Then we picked up our new entertainment unit and assembled it. Today, we had someone take away our old ones. We moved the new stuff in place and it looks great. I spent the remainder of the day making four pillows for them. 

After today’s experience, I have decided that I really hate the way you have to install invisible zippers. I do like the way they look, but, man, are they a giant pain in the @$$!!

Worked On:

  1. Art Deco quilt (quilt) Exploring mid century modern/art deco designs for the next quilt
  2. Effortless Cardigan (knitting) [Ravelry] Working on the last decrease section of the sleeves. 
  3. Finishing work. Picked backing fabric for Frida Kathlo and Purple Heart
  4. Mermaids of the Deep Blu Sea ( cross stitch). Started 4/1. Created a working copy of the pattern, marked the bead placements on it, and started stitching from the center. 
  5. Pillows for new sofa and loveseat (sewing)
    Made 4 gray pillows, 2 light gray and 2 dark gray. Cut out fabric for two gold pillows; waiting for zippers.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. I always make a special trip for this, so if I can do it on the same shopping run, s...

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
