 ...and a finished object. First up, the finished object. Halloween is sneaking up on us and I'm ready for it. I decided to spin a Halloween-themed yarn. Merino-Tencel from Greenwood Fiberworks 1) 170.8 yds. chain-ply, 13 WPI 2) 16 yds. 2-ply I started this year as a 2-ply, but really hated the way that the colors were flowing. I swapped over to chain-ply and like the way that the yarn turned out. To continue the Halloween theme, I started an old kit from my stash.  ,,,blog and run. The sunrise was spectacular on Wednesday. I caught a hummingbird hanging out on one of our plant supports: In the courtyard we have a pink hibiscus. In the backyard we had a pink Iceland poppy.

 ...on a Wednesday! I've been working primarily on the Peaceful Night cross stitch piece.  I also started the finishing work for the projects in the finishing queue. This task required that I learn more about my new sewing machine at the same time. All of the pieces now have backing and have been turned right-side out and pressed. Next is to stuff the pieces.  ...yeah, it's been a while. I've been dealing with my biggest WIP of all - selling mom's house. The house closed escrow last Thursday and we moved out the last of mom's stuff. My brother and I worked hard to get it done quickly so we could close that chapter.  The bonus in getting it done so quickly was that I actually got to spend some time with my brother and visit with my aunt. (View from mom's pool room) There are still some major items to handle so I can close out her estate, but this was a pretty big chunk off my shoulders.
