... at least for a while!

I'm making some progress on my Rock N Weave sock, even though it's been too hot to knit for long stretches of time. After messing up trying the picot edge a couple of times, I decided that it was too fussy for me. While I like things that flow, I am not a "ruffles" kind of person. So I decided that I'd just do a straight cast-off on the edge. I'm much happier with it. I'm working my way down the heel, doing "slip 1 k1/slip 1 p1" instead of "slip 1 k1/slip 1 purl across" in the pattern. I just like the way it looks...



Other than that, not much other knitting happening. I've only been knitting at lunch time; with no air conditioning at home, it's been too hot to knit at night.

This weekend, I need to get my sewing room back in order; it's still a mess after finishing my Mom's quilt. Then I can concentrate on my socks!

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
