Some beautiful autumn leaves...

Autumn Leaves

This tree is in our front yard - all its leaves are turning into this wonderful red-orange color.

On tap for this weekend, first SLEEP!! I have not been sleeping well. I've gotten more and more tired as the week has progessed - I need to recharge my battery! Then maybe I'll have the energy to do some knitting or quilting!

...Happy Blogiversary to me!! It's been 3 years since I started this blog. In that time I've gone from being mostly a cross-stitcher and quilter to being a knitter and spinner. I still cross stitch and quilt, but I spend far more of my craft time knitting and spinning. In honor of the blog turning 3, I'm having a contest! Leave a comment in this post to be entered in a drawing for a skein of Sundara Petals Collection sock yarn (or a skein of my handspun, if you prefer). The winner will be chosen at random from all entrants. Deadline: 1/12/09 at Midnight (Pacific time) Good luck! (Jaywalker socks in progress)

She already has one of my Emotional Support Chickies [ Ravelry ]. I wanted something more personal for her. She loves sunflowers, so I searched for something that might work. I found a small sunflower cross stitch pattern with a sunflower and the word Thankful. I liked it and decided to change the word to more reflect her journey. This is the Courage Sunflower: Specs: Started 9/24/2026 Finished 9/28/2026 Threads: Used DMC threads instead of the called-for thread Fab...
