September recap (such as it is)...

...I still can't believe it's October. While I'm more "well" than "sick," this sinus headache has got to go! I started feeling better yesterday and actually got a little knitting done. Mostly, it was a lost weekend...

The recap:
Finished:
  • Calla Lily socks from the Petals Collection
  • Knit2 prototype knitting bag (red, black and white)
  • Knit2 bag in copper, black and blue
  • More stitch markers
  • Purple alpaca scarf
    Well, kind of. I'm not happy with either end of the scarf. The lace pattern is fine, but the ends don't match and I don't think I can "block" them to match each other -- one's sort of scalloped and the other is squared off. And I don't have enough yarn for fringe to disguise the differences even if I could block them to look more alike. Sounds like it's off to the frog pond for me. Hmph!
Worked on:
  • Hydrangea socks
  • Kitty Pi bed
  • Paint it Black quilt (for me!)
Started:
  • Central Air socks using Peaseblossom yarn
  • Alpaca scarf (see "Finished" above)
Oh, well.

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me. Finishes on Tuesday...

...one that I can show you now.  This is the Belvedere Bird of Paradise handspun [ Ravelry ] that I finished on Sunday: and the close up: Specs: Started 3/23/14; Finished 4/6/14; Polworth-Silk top (4 oz) from Royale Hare; 247.5 yds. chain-ply, 14 WPI The other is a gift that I'll post when it gets to the recipient, hopefully this week. Spin-In was great as usual. I started one of my Greenwood Fiberworks Camel-silk tops. I love the way the camel-silk feels! I've spun a little over half of the 4 oz. bump. I'll probably finish that this weekend. Tomorrow, I'll get my new prescription for my glasses. It will take several days for the new lenses to be made, so I hope that I'll have my new glasses next week sometime. .
