Last Eye Candy Friday of the year...

...wow! It's hard to believe the year is almost over! Here's my last installment of Eye Candy Friday:

Mermaid in glass
This gorgeous glass mermaid was one of the gifts from my husband. While we both love the ocean, he's not quite into mermaids as much as I am (although he's kind of stuck with them since I have two cross-stitched mermaids hanging in our bedroom). However, we both love the mermaids by Lionel Chapital (Andaluzia Art Glass). This is the third Andaluzia piece my husband has given me. I have another mermaid hanging in my bathroom and a beautiful seahorse sculpture.

Yesterday, I spent a few hours unearthing my sewing room. It's still a little chaotic, but its far better than it was when I started. I did manage to get the leftover Christmas fabric put away, as well as a bunch of stray knitting needles. I "found" two quilt tops that need to be sandwiched and quilted, as well as the Frank Lloyd Wright quilt that is ready for quilting. I'd tucked them away into a cabinet and totally forgot about them! (Not to mention the many cross-stitch projects that have been patiently waiting for me to get back into the mood.)

We'll see what catches my attention today!

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
