Recapping December 2006 and the year...

I realize that I have the rest of the day to finish something, but considering the projects that I have in progress, that probably won't happen!

I'm going to list my end-of-the-month recap here and post my end of the year stuff in a separate post.

December 2006 recap
Finished:
  • Advent Calendar for my daughter (sewing)
  • Cowboy Santa ornament (cross stitch)
  • "Stockings Were Hung" Pine Mountain pillow kit
  • Scarf, Patons Carmen in steel blue

Started:
  • Twinkletoes slippers (knitting)
  • Burgundy Alpaca scarf (knitting)

Worked on:
  • Sangria Shawl (knitting)
  • Flip-top mittens: one done; working on ribbing for the second one (knitting)
The second flip-top mitten is coming along slowly. Since I'm not sure whether my daughter can even wear them due to her allergy problems with animal fibers, I'm not in a big hurry to finish these. And I had to take two steps back on the Sangria shawl due to a needle problem. I still haven't found the perfect needles to use for this shawl. I am now trying some Boye Balene needles I had in my stash -- they are flexible and a little easier on the hands, so we'll see how they work with the pattern.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. I always make a special trip for this, so if I can do it on the same shopping run, s...

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
