...Al, the alpaca. (Or if you wish to address him by his full name, Sr. Alberto Pérez de los Andes.)

My new mascot, Al

I adopted him from the Alpaca Direct booth at Stitches West. He protects my monitor and watches me work.

Since this is WIP Wednesday, I guess I should show at least one WIP. Here are the Lenore socks (ignore the little bulge on the side--the cup edge makes it pop out like that).

The cuffs are as long as I want them, so it's time to start the heel flaps. Yay!

And, I am *this* close to finishing the Seahorses needlepoint. My goal is to finish that this month and get it out of my face. I'll post a picture when it's finally done. (I am so ready to mark this off of my WIP list!! )

Glad to see "Sr Al" has a name, was very concerned about that...now can you tell me how you came up with that name, and do tell how he became knighted already??

The explanation:
Sr. = Señor (He's not a knight, he just wishes he was. Lol!)

Alberto because he has to be "Al the Alpaca" and he's Hispanic.

Pérez because it's a fairly common name in Peru and to honor my parents who loved to listen to Pérez Prado when I was little.

de los Andes because that's where he's from.

...I know, you had to ask!

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me. Finishes on Tuesday...

...one that I can show you now.  This is the Belvedere Bird of Paradise handspun [ Ravelry ] that I finished on Sunday: and the close up: Specs: Started 3/23/14; Finished 4/6/14; Polworth-Silk top (4 oz) from Royale Hare; 247.5 yds. chain-ply, 14 WPI The other is a gift that I'll post when it gets to the recipient, hopefully this week. Spin-In was great as usual. I started one of my Greenwood Fiberworks Camel-silk tops. I love the way the camel-silk feels! I've spun a little over half of the 4 oz. bump. I'll probably finish that this weekend. Tomorrow, I'll get my new prescription for my glasses. It will take several days for the new lenses to be made, so I hope that I'll have my new glasses next week sometime. .
