Eye Candy Friday for Ravelympics Opening Ceremonies

...which coincide with the Summer Olympics opening ceremonies in Beijing that started at 5am PST. While I did not cast on for one of my new projects, I did get up at 5am and work on my spinning WIP, the Plumthorn Wensleydale top. I decided to finish this on the wheel to make things go faster.

Here is the second bobbin.

I have just a bit more to spin and then I can ply it. I do love how this is turning out!

Tonight, the Husband and I are going to Redwood City to watch the Opening Ceremonies, which are being telecast outdoors on a big screen. We're meeting up with one (or more?) of his co-workers, so it should be fun. I am taking one of my knitting WIPs to work on.

Tomorrow, we have a date to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit at SF MOMA. I love her work and am really looking forward to it! We plan on having a late lunch after the exhibit at Thirsty Bear (yummy!). After that we have no plans, so we'll just play it by ear.

Dropping in to say hello and hmm, that Wensleydale looks familiar :) Your flowers are so wonderful to see - they'd make great note cards!! I was thinking of seeing the Kahlo exhibit too. Hope you're well, Terry

LOL! It's all spun now and very pretty!

The Kahlo exhibit was great, but I recommend going during the week. There were so many people on Saturday that it was difficult to see some of the paintings.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
