I still need to do the fringe, wash it, and block it. I'll do that over the weekend. These are totally different colors for me and I love how it turned out.

Up this weekend: I want to put away most of the kitchen cabinet items that are still sitting in boxes. I still don't have the modified drawers yet, but I can get the rest put away. Then I can attack the rugs and floors...boy, do they need to be cleaned!

Craft-wise, I want to fringe the shawl and get it washed and blocked. I want to finish the machine quilting for Paint It Red so I can start working on the binding. And, of course, work on the mermaid. She has a face now (well, the main stitching of the face...the features are backstitched and I haven't done any backstitching yet) and I'm working on her arms. Knitting seems to be on the back burner for now, but I plan on making some stuff for the daughter, so I'll get back to it soon!

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me. ...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving.
