WIP-it Wednesday...

...OMG, it's September! I admit to wanting to delay September as long as possible. It's my birthday month, and I'm hitting a pretty big milestone in a few days. Of all my milestone birthdays, this is the one that is kicking the !$@% out of me. Ugh!

Anyway, thanks to our newly established Craft Night, I'm humming away on my needlepoint project. Here's where it is after last night:

Turquoise Trail, as of 9/1/10


The center motif is done and I'm now working the dividing lines and the outside borders. The borders are kind of boring, so I don't have a lot of that done yet. I'm trying to layout the reddish-brown dividers so I can work the turquoise divider square. I think I'm going to run out of the turquoise thread, and I'd like to know that soon so I can order some more.

As I mentioned last time, I've been working on the Mochaberry Brambles socks. Here's what they look like:

I have completed 1.5 pattern repeats; there are a total of 2.5 pattern repeats in the cuff. I love how they are turning out!

No other WIPs to report on...the needlepoint has been my primary focus!

I'll post an August recap when I get a minute...

HEY, DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF....TRUST ME, IT AIN'T ALL THAT BAD.......Come Saturday, you will think, hummmmmmm I don't FEEL ANY DIFFERENT.......and you won't be......it's "just a number"......but it does come with benefits......LOTS OF DISCOUNTS here and there...haha....that is NICE....I save 10% of my total grocery bill on the first Wed of the month, cause I'm OLD....works for me.......saved me a wopping $15.00 yesterday.it "pays to be old".......if you think you've got it bad.....how do you think your MOM feels, having a daughter at "that age".......HAHAHAHA

LOVE THE SOCKS....AWESOME COLOR AND PATTERN!! 2 MORE DAYS....

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
