Saturday special...

...yes, I missed Eye Candy Friday. I had a jam-packed day trying to get everything in place so I could be gone Monday through Wednesday,

My surgery is scheduled for Monday morning and I'm just a little freaked. So much so that I'm not sleeping well. Since I can't sleep, I read...I've finished 3.5 books since Monday!

This weekend I'm doing some housework and the laundry so things here are in decent shape.  It also keeps me occupied so I'm not thinking about what's going to happen.

I have 3 yarns that are ready for plying so I'll do a little spinning "meditation" over the next couple of days.

Maybe I need some retail therapy. LOL!

Anyway, send good thoughts out to the Universe for me...

Everyone I know who has had cataract surgery has been very happy with the results. Hope you will be, too. Interestingly, my mom had cataract surgery on her first eye on Friday, so that's two of you at almost the same time. So I don't know yet how hers will turn out, of course.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
