WIP-it Wednesday round-up...

...in which we have a little progress. By far, the shawl has gotten the most attention.

Active WIPs in the rotation:
  1. Lacy in the Sky with Diamonds (Celestarium) shawl [Ravelry]: 75% done
    If I was doing the edging that the pattern specifies, I'd be 90% done. However, I picked an edging that requires more stitches per row. :-p

    I have finished 157 rounds as indicated in the chart (yay!) and have now knitting 4 extra rounds (k1tog yo/knit all with bead placement/yo k2tog/knit all no beads) to set up for the edging. Here's what the bead row looks like:

    On the plus side, I finally picked an edging! I saw an edging on a free shawl in Ravelry that has since disappeared, which is not a big deal as the pattern was no longer available for download. I found the same edging on a Jared Flood pattern (Leaves of Grass) that I ended up buying just for the edging. The shawl itself is beautiful and might get placed in my queue in the future!

    I might be able to finish this over the weekend.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. I always make a special trip for this, so if I can do it on the same shopping run, s...

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
