Top-of-the-Waves Tuesday...

...and the weekend report.
  • One of the two fabric orders for the commission quilt arrived on Friday, so I took photos of the fabric and incorporated it into the design. The second order arrived on Monday. It's been photographed and incorporated as well. Now I need to organize the fabrics and decide how big I want the squares.
  • I finished weaving the Dreams of Amethyst shawl. I need to do the hem stitching so I can cut it off the loom. Then, it's bath time! I can't wait to see how this bamboo yarn feels after washing.
  • I stared a second project for Loopy Academy. I wanted something easy to knit while I watched the Outlander marathon and I figured the Oatmeal Bonnet was a good choice. I've renamed it the Parritch Bonnet [Ravelry] because it was more Scot.  I really need to get a move on these Loopy Academy projects and this was one way to do so!
  • The Daughter came by on Sunday for a quick visit. It's always good to see her in person--you can't hug text messages, phone calls, or emails. :)
  • Th Husband has been busy replacing the carpeting on our stair landing with a laminate floor. Given that the carpeting was installed at least 35 years ago, it was way overdue!
  • I did a little spinning on Saturday. I finished one art yarn (don't remember the name) hat I auto-plied with copper thread. I also spun the singles on another art yarn (Mermaid Wild Card Bling Batt from the Yarn Wench [Ravelry]). I want to ply the Mermaid singles with beaded thread. I have the thread, but I need to buy beads that will reflect the colors in the fiber.

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. I always make a special trip for this, so if I can do it on the same shopping run, s...

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
