Top-of-the-Waves Tuesday...

...and the weekend report.
  • The weekend went way too fast!
  • The first thing on the agenda was to put the living room back into its normal configuration.
  • Next, find the missing boxes for 3 Hallmark ornaments and put all of the Christmas decorations away. I had to dig through 4 storage boxes to find the missing items. Since I had everything out, I reorganized the storage boxes so I can find thing easier next Christmas.
  • Boxed up the Star Trek tree so it can go back into the Storage Unit.
  • I put away the remaining baking tools and tossed the leftover royal icing so I could fold up the extra table in the kitchen. 
  • The Husband took the Star Trek Tree and the folding table back to the Storage Unit. Yay!
  • On Friday, I finished binding the All That Glitters quilt. On Saturday, I took care of all the loose threads and sewed a label on it. It's done!! I just need to take photos.
  • Sunday morning, there were many interesting raindrops hanging from the tree branches and plant leaves in our garden. I took the opportunity to try various settings with my new macro lens. Many of the photos didn't turn out, but a few did. I particularly like the raindrops on this Cordyline leaf.

  • The only other project I worked on was the mermaid. It's slow going as I'm on the part of her tail with large sections of the same color. DMC 503 gets a little boring after a while!

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
