Last day of 2018...

...I managed to get a photo of the sunrise.

Last sunrise 2018

Thursday 12/27

After quick trips to the V.E.T. For Sombra for a lab test, and to the post office to pick up flat rate boxes, I spent the day wrapping cookies and biscotti for mailing. I got 8 boxes ready for sealing and postage.

Friday 12/28

I sealed the packages and generated postage through PayPal. (I love using PayPal for this!) I delivered the packages to the Post Office. Hooray!

After that, I did some house cleaning and then attacked my studio. I spent a good deal of the afternoon putting things away and then vacuumed. It's amazing all the little nooks and crannies that fiber will find its way into!

I took a quick trip to the fabric store to get supplemental fabric for my mother-in-law's quilt. When I got everything home, I pulled out all of the components and realized that the resulting quilt would be lovely, but not lively. The whole purpose of the quilt is to brighten up her room. Back to the drawing board.

I hit the stash and found a brighter seaside panel and matching fabrics. The Husband agreed that they would make a better quilt for his mother.

Saturday 12/29

I started working on the quilt for my mother-in-law. I did a bit of planning first and then started working on the top.

In the evening, my niece and her family stopped by for a quick visit on their way back home to Washington. It had been a few years since I saw them, so it was a real treat to spend a couple of hours with them.

Sunday 12/30

The Daughter invited us to a get-together at her house, which took a good chunk out of the middle of the day.

I managed to get a little done one the quilt, but mostly I read and relaxed.

New Year's Eve

After paying some bills, I worked on the quilt top. I've had to finesse the border fabric to get enough to do two borders around the quilt. I added some feature squares at the corner that look pretty good.I still need to add another border to make the quilt wide enough for a twin-size bed. I'll do that tomorrow.

We have a London Broil and baked potatoes in the oven for our New Year's Eve dinner. I have ice cream and berries for dessert. And some Prosecco for a midnight toast.

Tree is ready for New Year's Eve

Happy New Year!
