Top-of-the-Waves Tuesday...

...and the weekend report.

I completely missed the Eye Candy post on Friday. Part of the issue has been that I am not very motivated to take photos when it's windy and rainy, and there are very few blooming things around.

I spent my Friday afternoon and Saturday sorting and organizing my bead and sequin collection. The storage system I was using did not work well for the beads - they spilled over into each other, mixing the colors up. I started the collection before my daughter was born (almost 41 years ago!!). If I was just starting now, I would have researched organization methods and picked something else!

I found that all of my silver beads and sequins had tarnished, as well as many of my other metallic beads and sequins. There is really no coming back from that, so I dumped them. The only saving grace is that they weren't very expensive when I bought them (read: cheap). Over the course of 1.5 days, I managed to sort through the various colors of beads and place them into new containers (Elizabeth Ward Bead Storage containers). I ran out of containers when I got partway through the sequins, so I ordered more yesterday.

On Sunday, I cleared my work table and pulled out my soap materials. Since I only make melt-and-pour soap, all I really need is a microwave and some glass measuring cups. I had a rude awakening when I realized that it had been far too long since I had made soap and I was rusty. I ended up having to redo two of the batches because the colors ran. Fortunately, all I had to do was cut out the pieces with runny color, add more soap base, and remelt it. The second batch was much better. I really need to pay more attention to this craft to keep up my skills!

I'm still waiting on the name patch for my MIL's quilt, so it's still on hold.

I managed to get a couple of hours in on the St. Charles needlepoint. At least it's a little progress!

I processed the Phat Fiber October photos! Here's the collage for that box:

Phat Fiber Box, October 2018

Row 1: Box label; Hanks in the Hood, Comfed Out Kaiser, FiberQuirks, Unknown
Row 2: Handmade Hallows, Wonderland Fibers, Curley Cewes
Row 3: Symphony Fibers, Wild Hair Studio, Zany Pilgrimage

Row 3: Gloria Patre, Phoenix Fiber Mill, Candy, Jager and Yarn, Golden Threads, Thank you bubbles

And I finally took some time to figure out where I am on the Mother of Dragons shawl. If course, I immediately found an error. Grr. I'm in the process of tinking a couple of rows to see if I can get back to a good row.
