WIP-it Wednesday...

....and I am >this< close to finishing two(!) projects!
  1. Baroque hat (knitting) [Ravelry]: I only need to bind off the top and bury the ends. Yay!
  2. St. Charles (needlepoint): I need to do the string art, which should take less than an hour! Double Yay!
 After those two projects are done, I really need to get serious about starting the weaving project. Or the next mermaid. Or...

WIPs Roll Call
Worked On:
  • Baroque Hat (knitting) [Ravelry]
    Knitted the last decrease row. Ready to bind-off!
  • Mother of Dragons shawl (knitting) [Ravelry]
    Figured out exactly where I am and printed a shortened version of the current chart. Ready to go!
  • Seaside Dreams quilt for MIL (quilting)
    Received the embroidered label for the back. While prepping the backing fabric, I realized that  waves pattern would run in the wrong direction if I piece it in my usual manner and I didn't have enough fabric to piece it in the right direction. Rats! I ordered different backing fabric that will work better. Sigh.
  • St. Charles (needlepoint) 
    Finished the stitched portion of the project. Ready to do the string art using an enlarged project photo as a guide. Almost there!

Eye Candy Friday...

...and another week races by! We have a few blooming things in the garden. This Icelandic Poppy is on the ledge outside the kitchen window: We have some bright yellow calendulas filling a container in the back yard: and these unusual pink flowers are in another contains. Don't ask me what they are...I have no idea: Up this weekend: We're taking a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores, The Container Store . I have placed an online order for some of the items I'll need for my December baking spree. I planned to go by myself to pick it up, but The Husband wants to look for small jars to repackage the olives he's brineing. We don't shop together, so this is a nice outing for the two of us. Don't tell The Husband, but we will also be going to Williams-Sonoma, which is in the same shopping center. I need to buy the dry brine and the gravy base for Thanksgiving. I always make a special trip for this, so if I can do it on the same shopping run, s...

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me.
