Top-of-the-Waves Tuesday...
...and it's Stitches West week!! While I am nowhere near ready for it, but I am so looking forward to it!
.
- I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons working on the Seaside Dreams quilt. For the second time, I had issues with the bobbin thread. Somehow, at the end of one bobbin the threads got completely tangled in the bobbin. Fortunately, I hadn't gotten very far, so it was easy to pull out.
- I finished all of the stitch-in-the-ditch quilting and added wavy stitching to the leafy borders. I quilted all 4 feature corners and quilted the scallop and Triton shells in one of the panels borders.
- I opted not to go to Spin-In as there simply wasn't enough time to do everything I needed to do.
- I got a massive headache on Sunday and stopped crafting early. I took a couple of Excedrin and rested for a couple of hours.
- The Husband and I devoted Monday to cleaning up the loft. We have ignored it for far too long. The goal was to make enough floor space to put the air bed without our guest tripping over stuff. Some of the stuff was leftover Christmas paper/bags and decorations that wouldn't fit in the cabinets. There were also some items that needed to be moved to storage.
Once I got started, I couldn't stop. Since I am no longer doing cookies by volume, there were a lot of wrapping things that could be recycled or donated. The bookshelves were full of books that I will never read again. One storage cabinet was a complete mess with old ribbons, bows, boxes, and bags that had just been shoved into it.
I went through everything and the Husband moved things out to go to storage.
In the end, he had a car full of things to take to storage. I set aside two boxes full of baskets and other items for Goodwill, 4 boxes of books for donation, 4 large bags of paper recycling, and 3 large garbage bags of trash and paper items that could not be recycled.
I dusted everything and rearranged what was left to make a good-sized area for the airbed. - I was exhausted by the time I finished with that. It was 4:30pm when I sat down to rest. Fortunately, we were having leftovers and I didn't have to cook!
