WIP-it Wednesday on a Thursday...

...the Stitches West post yesterday took too long. I postponed the WIPs until today. :)

Several things got a little play in the last week, but Stitches West consumed most of my time.

WIPs Roll Call
Worked On:
  • Canto de Sirena shawl (knitting) [Ravelry]
    I really hated how big the holes were. Since I was only on row 7 of the pattern, I went ahead and pulled out everything back to the garter stitch border. I restarted the pattern, placing the stitch markers in a different location (read: not after a YO)
  • Cupcake Hat (knitting) [Ravelry]
    Still knitting the ribbing.
  • Dragon Scales handspun (spinning) [Ravelry]
    Started plying.
  • Earth and Sky hat (knitting) [Ravelry]
    Started at Stitches West as an easy project. Halfway through the hat.
  • Seaside Dreams quilt for MIL (quilting)
    Working on the machine quilting of the motifs. All of the stitch-in-the-ditch quilting is done.
In the Queue

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me. Finishes on Tuesday...

...one that I can show you now.  This is the Belvedere Bird of Paradise handspun [ Ravelry ] that I finished on Sunday: and the close up: Specs: Started 3/23/14; Finished 4/6/14; Polworth-Silk top (4 oz) from Royale Hare; 247.5 yds. chain-ply, 14 WPI The other is a gift that I'll post when it gets to the recipient, hopefully this week. Spin-In was great as usual. I started one of my Greenwood Fiberworks Camel-silk tops. I love the way the camel-silk feels! I've spun a little over half of the 4 oz. bump. I'll probably finish that this weekend. Tomorrow, I'll get my new prescription for my glasses. It will take several days for the new lenses to be made, so I hope that I'll have my new glasses next week sometime. .
