Mother's Day and Studio...
...I had a great Mother's Day!
The Daughter sent these beautiful roses on Friday for Mother's Day.
We went to her house for lunch and enjoyed spending more time with her. Between the trip to Cabo and Mother's Day, we've probably spent more time with her this month than than we have in a long time. Not than I'm complaining in any way!
We're nearing the end of the studio remodel and I can't wait! There are so many things that I want to order for the room, but I need to wait until we're sure that we can get in there without getting in the way. The only thing I've been to do is partially set-up the laundry area.
The laundry area is tight and there's no way that I could have a cabinet that would house both the cat box and laundry necessities. I bought magnetic shelves to put on the side of the W/D tower to hold detergent, dryer sheets, paper towels, etc. It's working very well so far. I just need to get a trash can in there.
I have ordered one piece of furniture so far: a new sewing machine cabinet. I might have mentioned that my old one needs repair (broken hydraulic lift) and a broken caster. It's functional but it's also very long. With the reduced space in the studio because of the bathroom addition, I needed to get something a little more compact that can also double as additional desk specs when I need it.
I ordered the Sew Fine Hideaway Deluxe Cabinet. It completely closes up when not in use, which helps keep dust off of the sewing machine and inside the cabinet. The other major advantage is that is comes completely assembled! Most other cabinets require assembly and they are all really heavy. Unfortunately, it's on back order and is not expected to be in stock until July. Until then I'll do a modified layout of the studio and use my old cabinet.
The other big thing I need to order is the combination Murphy bed/book shelves unit. I hope that it's lead time is not as long as the sewing machine cabinet. Otherwise my books will stay in boxes until we get it!
