Tour de Fleece Day 3 & 4...

Day 3:
I finished the Blue Fortune handspun:

Started 6/30/13;
Finished 7/1/13
Mostly Blue Wheel of Fortune batt (1 oz);
Chain-plied with beads;
37.2 yds, 10 WPI

Day 4:
I spun the singles for Purple Fortune:

and I spun the singles for Red Fortune:

I don't think I'll ply these singles yet. My current thought is to spin the singles of the last one-ounce batt after work tonight and then ply all three tomorrow, making the most of my holiday. Also, I think the red singles are crying out for beads and sequins. If I decide to go that route, I'll string the embellishments on Sulky thread before I start plying, a time-consuming task all by itself.

I also got a chance to knit a couple of rounds on the Southern Skies shawl. I'm finishing up round 120 of 158. Still a long way to go!

It's my 5th Blogiversary...let's have a contest!

Yeah, who knew I'd still be doing this five years later? There have been a few changes since my first post . I'm no longer just a stitcher and quilter. I've added knitter, spinner, and weaver to the list. I also dabble in macro photography I changed the name of the blog to be more "me." I changed the layout. I have more than one reader. (Don't burst my bubble, please. LOL!) I've settled into a MWF schedule of posting, except when life and work get in the way. I still find the blog a useful journal of the projects I have in process and my mindset at the time I'm working on them. A little personal stuff gets thrown in from time to time. So, for now, blogging is still working for me. If you've been reading all along...thanks for joining me on this little journey! I plan on continuing as long as it is still useful for me. My 7th Blogiversary...

...technically it was Saturday, but I don't often post on the weekends.  I'm usually too busy running errands and trying to get in some quality crafting time. Before I dive into the weekend report, here's a late entry in the Christmas cookie display. I had to wait until these cookies arrived at their final destination before I could show them. Yes, they are for the same couple for whom I made the marzipan bees! I need a little practice decorating the bees, but I think they turned out OK. Moving on... I was essentially housebound on Saturday while I waited for a delivery (which never came!). I took advantage of the time deconstruct Christmas. I packed 95% of the Christmas decorations and put them back into the storage closet. The remaining 5% are the chile pepper lights and garland that hang from the loft railing. After going up and down the stairs multiple times to get the boxes for the decorations and then put them away, I just couldn't face going up the stair...
