...it's seems like yesterday was Monday! The week has flown by! Time for some catch-up and a WIP recap. I met up with a friend for Craft Coffee on Monday. She moved out of the area a couple of years ago, and was in town for a few days. It was nice catching up! Spin-In was Saturday and I finished spinning the singles for Arcade [ Ravelry ]. I spent a lot of time during the weekend rearranging furniture in my studio. I'm trying to figure out how to make room for my computers without sacrificing too much floor space. I definitely need a desktop and possibly a new cube unit to shift things around. In the process of moving things around, I went through all of my quilting, knitting, and stitching books. I culled out a banker's box worth of books that I will never use, which freed up a shelf to use for my project binders. Work has been busy, which is both a pain and a joy. The joy part is that it's busy because we're trying to figure out who's going to do my jo...

...and the weekend report. After work on Friday, I picked up the Star Trek Hallmark ornament that I had ordered in July. I'm now the proud owner of the 40th anniversary enterprise ornament! The Hallmark store happens to be in the same shopping center as my vet. Sombra's ashes were ready for pick-up so I did that next. Sombra and Tica are now side-by-side on the bookcase. I miss their fuzzy little faces. :( After a late lunch, I baked some Mexican Wedding Cookies. They were my contribution to cousin's birthday party on Saturday. Saturday was a hot day in Hollister. My mom and my aunt drove up from Santa Maria to be there for the party. Several of our Los Angeles relatives also made the trip. The food was wonderful and we all had a good time! Sunday was errands and some crafting. I spent most of the time spinning because I just couldn't face weaving. I also spent a little time fixing an error in the Malachite needlepoint project. I was off by one column, wh...

...the days are flying by! When we met the Daughter for lunch last weekend, she gave me another birthday bouquet. The colors in it were so vivid, like this pink rose: A sunflower: A stargazer lily: And my favorite, a purple hydrangea: Sadly, the hot weather has taken its toll on the flowers, but they were gorgeous while they lasted! Up this weekend: A birthday party for one of my cousins. Several family members are attending, so it will be good to catch up with them. I'm baking some Mexican Wedding cookies to take since I have no idea what to get him for his birthday, Other than that, we have no specific plans. I'd like to spend as much time as possible in my studio, but we'll have to see how that works out. .

...and the weekend report. My birthday celebration continued through the entire weekend! On Saturday, The Husband and I drove to Pigeon Point Light Station. We hadn't been there in a few years and it was looking a little run-down. They don't allow people to go into the lighthouse anymore for safety reasons. We walked around the area and I took lots of photos. We drove north to find a beach we could walk on that was more than a few feet long. We tried Bean Hallow State beach, but could not find parking at one lot and the other lot lead to a mostly rocky beach rather than sandy. Still, the rocks were interesting to photograph. We drove up to Pescadero State Beach and had a wonderful walk in the sand. I loved it and really neede it. On Sunday, we went out to lunch with the Daughter. We hadn't seen each other in a few weeks, so it was good to be able to catch up in person. Some crafting was accomplished and I finished something. Yay! Not enough time right now to po...

...and catching up with the last week. (I know...) The house got clean (mostly) before our guests arrived on Saturday. Yay! On Sunday, we boarded the sailboat that the Husband chartered for his Dad's last journey. He loved to sail on the San Francisco Bay, so that's where we took him. The weather was perfect, but there was very little wind so we couldn't sail for very long. We didn't actually scatter his ashes. Instead, we had a biodegradable urn/box that we placed in the ocean. My sister-in-law fixed her dad's favorite martini and poured it into the ocean after we deployed the urn. We all went to lunch afterwards and then went our separate ways. Our company flew home on Monday. It was my birthday on Wednesday, which is a terrible day for a birthday - you can't really do anything if you have to work the next day. I did get spoiled by the Daughter - she sent me some gorgeous calla lilies. And my sister and her husband sent me a beautiful lily and ...
