Eye Candy Friday...

...wow, it's been a while for one of these. I've had the photos, just not the time to edit and post them.

This is Black and Bloom salvia, which is still going strong in the backyard:

The Pittsburgh Purple chrysanthemums are also still blooming:

And the giant wine zinnia is still setting flowers in the courtyard:

New plantings include this purple celosia in the courtyard:

and this Martha Washington geranium by our front door:

Up this weekend: The mad scramble into Thanksgiving begins!

With mom coming on Monday before Turkey Day for 5.5 days, we need to get the guest room prepped for her. She gets cold easily, so we need to make sure that we have enough blankets, a rug for the floor by the bed and a second layer of curtains over the sliding glass door to keep the room a little warmer. The Husband and I plan on making a Target run to get the things we need for her room. Fortunately, I bought and washed new towels for his brother's stay in September, so mom will have something nice to use.

I need to review my recipes and start making my lists of what to take to the Daughter's for the big meal. I still have the list from 2 years ago, I simply need to modify it. The Daughter is taking charge of the vegetables (my least favorite things to make) this year, so I can remove that from my list.Yay!

I promised Mom that we would go food shopping when she got here.. I want to make sure that my grocery list is ready to go for that trip. I will buy the turkey before hand so it can defrost before Wednesday. It needs to go into the dry brine at that point.

So many things to do! And retirement is getting closer and closer!!
