Art yarn accomplished...

...and my wheel is in need of repair.

When the wheel fell apart, the tension knob broke. I managed to put it in place and get the tension set-up temporarily. I unfolded the wheel and tightened it into place.  The wheel held together long enough for me to finish the art yarn.

Specs:
Started 1/30/2020
Finished 1/31/2020
Merino-silk (4.0 oz) from Miss Babs in Jello Shooters
Single plied with Madeira metallic thread in red and Plymouth Yarn Eros II yarn in color 3003
122.8 yds., bulky weight

When I was done spinning, I folded the wheel and removed the connector, which was halfway out already. I removed small pieces of wood from the opening that I had used on the previous repair. I glued in new wood pieces.

I planned on replacing the hinge since I had the wheel folded and I could access the area. However, I didn't know that the hinge screws required a special screw driver. Since I needed a new tension knob for the plying head, I ordered both the screwdriver and the knob. I'm waiting for those to arrive before I finish the repairs.

In the meantime, my sweater project has captured most of my attention. Amazingly enough, I think I have gauge!

One thing that distracted me was the need for a larger project bag for the sweater. I whipped together a new bag using fabric in the stash and a zipper that I had on hand. This is Llama Project Bag:

I needed a larger project bag for the sweater I’m knitting.
Llama fabric outside, with a 16-inch zipper; sheep fabric lining.

I added a pocket on the opposite side at the last minute and now I'm trying to figure out how to keep things from falling out of it without using velcro. Snaps are always a possibility. We'll see.
