...mostly cross-stitch this week. The little bit of spinning that I did was finished on Friday (see my previous post). I've been alternating Dreaming Cleo with Pearl Orchid. Pearl Orchid has proved to be problematic for me. I've had to frog several sections because I used the wrong color. Sigh. My own error, but so much for this piece being a quick one! WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Dreaming Cleo (cross stitch) Added the metallic gold to the headpiece before moving on to the body and the rest of the design. Pearl Orchid (cross stitch) Pulled out another section that used the wrong color. Finished restitching the section and started on the outer border. No Work This Week: Look Through My Window quilt for me (quilting) Mermaid’s Lagoon Socks (knitting) [ Ravelry ]    Ocean Ripples Wrap (knitting) [ Ravelry ]   Sky Lanterns Shawl (knitting) [ Ravelry ] Valley ...

...yay! I finished the first yarn on my new Lendrum DT. I tried a 2-ply and it turned out OK. Using the plying head was not as smooth as the regular head, but not as bad as with the old wheel. This is Sunflower [ Ravelry ]: and the close-up: Specs: Started 3/4/2024 Finished 3/15/2024 Merino-Cashmere-SIlk (4.0 oz) from Greenwood Fiberworks 335.4 yds 2-ply, 15 WPI I'm still playing with my new camera. I'm not sure if it's me or the camera, But I'm having a heck of a time getting a sharp photo, whether it's outside or in the lightbox. I'm bummed because I used to get such good photos on my older Canon cameras, especially the SX 520.  I haven't given up yet, but...

...not as much accomplished because of my quick trip to mom's house. I've been steadily working on a new Barbara Ana design.  ...a little of this, a little of that. When I heard that Gord Lendrum was retiring from building spinning wheels, I was sad. I love my Lendrum DT folding wheel, but it hasn't been foldable for several years and it's been pretty wobbly for a while. I was hoping to get it repaired at some point. Instead, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new wheel and use my old wheel as back-up parts.  It arrived yesterday and I immediately put it to the test. It spins like butter - I am so happy! The fiber I started with is Sunflower [ Ravelry ], a merino-cashmere-silk top from Greenwood Fiberworks. I am working on the singles. WIPs Roll Call Worked On: Pearl Orchid (cross stitch) Started another section, but had to pull it out because I used the wrong color. Sigh, for a little piece it's been challenging.
